So I have an iPhone, as a result my monthly cell phone bill has an additional $30 charge for data plan, and $20 for unlimited sms, but this month I noticed an additional $20 charge under Purchases & Downloads Details, wtf? So I call up AT&T and ask them, what is this nugget in my bill. Turns out that a company called MBlox charges for data delivery at $20 monthly subscription. It seems someone may have sent me an sms message with a link to a picture or something, I “apparantly” clicked on it, which then directed me to a download link to view a picture, that was then e-delivered to my iPhone screen via MBlox service. In doing so, you automatically become a paying, monthly customer of MBlox, what the shit? So, AT&T is like, yea that happens quite often, dude! Not cool, its like Expensive SPAM!
AT&T was real cool about it, the rep checked my billing history to check how far back I “signed up”, she discovered that I had been charged for the service back in October, woa, so the rep was able to cancel the service and offer me a refund of $80 credit into my bill.
In short, check your bill and watch your sms.
